Hallelujah! Join us for a heartwarming afternoon of communal joy and musical splendor at our inaugural Handel’s Messiah Community sing-along! Whether you’re a seasoned singer, an enthusiastic newcomer, or a listener who simply wishes to bask in the harmonious atmosphere of 100s of voices, this sing-along offers a place for you. Under the guidance of our beloved choir conductor, Joshua Mazur, and accompanied by a professional orchestra and soloists, we’ll navigate the majestic “Hallelujah” chorus and many more beloved selections from Messiah. No previous experience is required, and participation in the singing is entirely optional. Bring your scores if you wish to sing along, or simply come to enjoy the music and the company of fellow music lovers. This event is a celebration of the joy and unity that Handel’s Messiah continues to inspire around the world. - What is a Messiah Sing-Along?
A Messiah Sing-Along is a community event where attendees are invited to sing along with selections from Handel’s Messiah, focusing on popular choruses like the “Hallelujah Chorus.” It’s a joyful celebration open to all music lovers, whether you’re a professional musician or just enjoy singing with others. - Do I need to know the music or be a trained singer to participate?
No musical training is required! Sing-Alongs welcome everyone, from experienced choristers to first-timers. You’re free to sing along in any part. Just bring your enthusiasm! - Is there an orchestra?
Yes! Our event will feature a live orchestra, our fabulous Ocala Symphony Orchestra, which adds a wonderful richness to the experience. Our conductor will guide everyone through the music to make it as cohesive and enjoyable as possible. He might tell some bad jokes, though! - Do I need to bring my own score?
If you have your own score, feel free to bring it. Scores will be available if you’d like to borrow one. - Will there be soloists?
Yes, we’ll have trained soloists performing the solo portions of the Messiah. However, this is a true sing along, so you can sing along with whatever you’d like! - How long is the event?
The sing-along typically lasts around 60 minutes, including short breaks and time for the conductor’s commentary and introductions. This allows plenty of time to sing and enjoy the music together. - Is this event suitable for children?
Yes, children are welcome! - Do I need to buy tickets?

There is no dress code—wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Some participants enjoy dressing festively, but it’s not required! - Is there a specific time for the “Hallelujah Chorus”?
Yes, we’ll conclude with the “Hallelujah Chorus.” The conductor will invite everyone to stand and sing this finale together as the grand finale. - Can I just come and listen if I’m not comfortable singing?
Absolutely! Listeners are more than welcome, and we love having an appreciative audience. Even if you don’t sing, you’ll be surrounded by uplifting music and community spirit!
